Our Back Yard

I want to take you on a tour of our back yard.
We took the dogs for a walk in the back.
If you look straight up, you'll see the back of our house.

Yes, deer tracks.
Max was going crazy sniffing everything. It was hard to find a print with out dog prints.
More deer prints, there must have been 3-4 deer.
We have little over 2 acres, and this part we haven't touched. It's great to walk the dogs or just explore nature in it's peacefulness.
My dear husband, he invited me along.
Thanks Babe!
Spice on the right.
Isn't it beautiful?
We're at the bottom of the hill on our boundary line.
Our house is at the upper left.
The right side of our land.
At the bottom, we get a running brook when it rains.
The dogs love to walk through the muck.
A different walk, better then the street.
The dogs are on there own, and they stick around
I hope you enjoyed the tour.

I hear you....I can't see you.........

Spice likes to visit our neighbor.
"The Rednecks", they have trash all over there yard. TV, washer , toilet and more one there porch and yard.
Spice gets into things and brings it back to the house.
I looked out the kitchen window and what do I see?
A crazy dog with a box on her head!
Jennifer and I kept calling her to come home.
She would stop, listen and walks some more.
We couldn't stop laughing.
LOL

Spice and Max Update

Spice is slowly getting use to Max. He wants to play, Spice sometimes. Usually Spice likes to go out do her thing and go back in the house. She doesn't want to be bothered with him.
Max has grown a bit since we have adopted him. He is still a clumsy puppy, tripping over his own four feet.
After they run around, wrestle and play. They rest near each other.
Just chilling.
"Cool grass feels good on my tummy."

Neighborhood is doing well with these two watch dogs.
HA!

Just a little more snow

I know our snow wasn't as bad as the east coast. But for some of us. It wasn't fun. Rob and I were going to have date night, we canceled. Maybe next week?
Spice enjoyed the walk in the snow. You would think she would walk in the road with us. No, she wanted to walk in the snow touching her belly. Crazy dog.

This looking across the street. Isn't it beautiful! I love it when the snow is on the branches.

Another one looking across the street.

There were BIG snow flakes coming down hard. If you were driving it was like a thick fog in front of you. We are suppose to get more, we'll see how much.
Keep warm!!!

MISSING DOG!!!!

Do you remember this dog that was abandoned in our neighborhood? He became attached to us?
Rob took him to the pound and dropped him off, hoping a loving family would take him in as a loving family dog. Like we did for Spice, Misty and Tiger.
They would hold him for a week, then put him to sleep. Rob and I talked and we couldn't do this to him. The next day Rob went back to the pound and gave he's phone number, and told them,"If no one picks him up, call me."

Well seven days later we got the call, Rob got the old dog house out, put a runner up this weekend, and brought him back today. It will be a outside dog, Rob said he'll take total care of him.

Rob will still try and find a home for him, unless he gets attached to him. Then he'll be Rob's "Max".

Anyone want a dog!

Our Silly Cats

OK, usally just one cat will hop on Rob's lap for a little loving. The funny thing is I was on the couch, and usally Misty would jump on the couch and cuddle.
Well Misty came up to Tiger gave him a kiss and laied down. Very odd for this two. I guess Rob has that special touch they love. They do look comfy don't they.

I'm still here!!!!

I'm still here! I've been busy. Working, slowing gardening, working, socializing (he-he),working ,quilting, I would like to say cleaning or laundry but NO! Military Clothing moved to the new store and I have so much more to stock! Instead of my part time , 2 hour day. It's more like 3-4 hour days. Some people would want more, I like just a little. Why? I can still enjoy life.
I have been busy making a quilt for a special friend retiring and leaving us to there home town. I made a basket from .. I forget. I'll find out when I post a pic. Still working on my yo-yo quilt, and looking into my gardening books.
It's SPRING!!!!

What I've been doing with my feet up

Remember my Cathedral Quilt I started?
This is how far I have gotten with this. It's the size of a small table cloth. I'm really liking how it's turning out. I have more muslin and squares to sew on. I just don't know how big I'm going on this. Or what I'm going to use it for. Table Cloth? Bed Spread? Bed Cover? Wall hanging?
Remember my basket of yo-yo's?
I decided to sew them on muslin then quilt around each yo-yo.
It will be another lap quilt, I'm trying to decide what color I should use to quilt with. Any suggestions?

If you take a look the same fabric I used with the yo-yo's, the left overs I made this scrappy quilt.
I finally used up all this fabric I've had for a few years. I picked up the scraps at a thrift shop for only a couple of dollars. I hand quilted around each square. all I need to do is the binding now.

Misty is my little helper, she'll jump up on my lap get under the quilt and keep me warm while I quilt away.

Poor Spicedog

What a friday morning. I let Spice out to go pee before I left for work, like I do every morning. Well, as I was going to the door to let her in, I saw blood on the right side of her face.
On her head, on her back and blood dripping out of her ear. She was only out for about 15 mintues, and she got in a dog fight. Don't know which dog. There are a few that wonder around. Like Spice does.
I tried cleaning her up, but the blood kept coming. I called Rob and told him to meet me at the vet. I got to the vet as soon as they were opening up. She bled all over the vet's floor. What a mess. I left her outside for the morning till the bleeding stopped. And she is on meds for infection. She is also scared for life at the age of 9 years old. She hasn't been wondering around the neighborhood. She is for now sticking around the house.
What a day!

Leaving for the Baby Shower!

I'll be leaving for the Nikki's Baby Shower monday morning with Heather. Car is already packed with all kinds of goodies. And the Tom-Tom is set and ready. For a little car, it has a big trunk.

Just a little tease here. Some photos of the items I'm bringing. I'll show the whole lot when I get back. Don't want Nikki to see before I get there. LOL

Yes, I want to be called BaBa. It reminds me of my grandmother. I have many special memories of her. We use to visit every sunday after church. There was alot of good times. Also BaBa is part of our Ukrain-Polish culture.

I didn't want to make a baby blanket, that she would out grow. I made a quilt she can have forever, and maybe pass it on. Love the colors, I'm happy with this one.

Oh, my new project? Misty is loving it:) I'm have a problem working on it though. Every time I start, she gets under it, or on top and gets comfy.I'm also happy with this one to. Love the colors.
