I took it with us!

When we moved in our first house, in 1996. We started measuring the kids (and Spice),  on the wall in the pantry.

We left for 7 years and rented the house.

We were surprised when we came back it was still there!

We kept it going.
We also added our daughter-in-laws and grand kids when they visited.

We were building a house, and we couldn't take the wall with us. I couldn't just leave it!
I measured and took every ones measurements and transferred them to a 6ft board.

I also put our last name underneath.
Our oldest is over 6 ft now, oh well.

I did take it with us!
I'm happy with it.

We Found It!

We have been hunting for a rough looking fire place mantel for weaks. Everyone kept showing us the"pretty" ones.
NOT us.
Rob and I stopped at a Antique Store, and Rob went in the back and found a pile of wood. In that pile of wood he found this piece. We went inside and the lady said, "No, way she would sell any of that wood".

I told Rob, "Don't worry about it I'll get it". Monday I stopped by and asked the owner, she said $15, and I said SOLD!
Funny thing is, it's a left over from her log home.

They are painting!
Yes, all the way up to 20 feet high.
Our foyer ,we decided two tone on the same family color palette. There will be a white molding between the colors.

We have three colors in the foyer, great room and kitchen. The back wall is one of the darker colors we chose, love it!

Where the shrunk will go.

The down stairs.See the huge boxes in the center doorway?
My kitchen cabinets.

Our fire place with the mantel.

It's going to look so GOOD!!

Jennifer and I, She's graduating 25th of May. She's all grown up and ready to go on her own.

We went to Hermann MO for Oktober Fest with the family and friends.

Yhea Heather went too! You like her grape necklace?
Mick and Rob all dressed up, and having some fun.

Rob, Jennifer, me, Mick, Julie and Naomi. Juiles daughter visiting from England.

It was a beautiful day to enjoy the sights and the wine.

Yes, Jennifer was taking pictures of everything. Maybe because Mick lent Jennifer his lens. She was in love!

Grapes were ready for pickin.

Beautiful day, great people, of course the day went by to fast.

Until next time!

My Wobbly Table

Look at this $5 thrift find I had to have. It was wobbly, marked up and scratched.

I fell in love withe shape, and right away I knew it was perfect for Jennifer, and know what I wanted to do with it. Something similar  what I did for her ceiling fan in her room.

Spray painted it a flat white.

Painted everything but the top.

Took down my favorite book for the pages, ripped them out and Modge Podged the top.

I did the same on Jennifer's ceiling fan.  She loves to read, so I thought this was her. She loves her fan and loves  this table.

I like it myself, to cute of a night stand.
Enjoy Jennifer!

Jennifers Homcoming 2011

Our youngest of four, a senior. She is having a outstanding year in everything she does. One surprise was being nominated for Homecoming Queen.

She is our wild child, all in a good way. She enjoys life, and she shows it. She is alot of fun with us and her friends love her so.

There is proud Dad.

Jennifer in the parade, a little nervous, she is not a show boat so this Homecoming thing was out of her box.  But she new how Rob wanted to walk her accross the football field.

Jenn gave us the parade wave, just for us.

She didn't win, but look at that smile, she is so happy!

The real smile, she is so tickled pink!
LOL

Proud Dad and daughter.

The Court.

Mel one of  Heathers friend, adopted Jennifer as her younger sister she never had made this cute banner.

Brittany surprised Jennifer and showed up with a beautiful roses. I'm sure this is a High School event that she'll never forget.
Great memories.
