Another Showing of Our Castle

Another showing of our castle.
This standing on the garage looking toward the front. All that gravel will be our front porch.

Another view of the front porch.
We wanted a large porch. lol

The view from the back. Our walk out, visitors annex.

Our garage, the concrete is down.

Another view to the front. The contractor was away for the week, and the weather wasn't helping. Hopefully they'll start the framing this week!

This is what I am working on. Hopefully it will be finished this weekend so I can share with you.

Square Yo-Yo Quilt

Yes you read it right.
Square yo-yo quilt.
This quilt was so different for me. That's why I  had to make this, and I'm not talking about the quilt. I'm talking about the colors.

White-Black and Red.

After cutting out the pattern and the batting.

I sewed the sides together.

Put the batting inside and sewed up the center.

I used the zig zag stich, to piece them together.

I still have to sew a few corners together.
But over all I realy like the way it turned out.
Even the colors.

Clam Shell Quilt

This is how it started two years ago.
Yes, two years ago I saw this in a quilting book and I had to make this quilt.
I first hand sewed the clams edges. This was great for long trips.
After sewing all the edges, I then started hand sewing them together.

After all the clams were stitched together, I sandwiched the top, batting and the back. And stitched the quilt together. I sewed each clam shell.

I thought I was making a lap quilt, little did I know it turned in to a bed quilt.

I love the puffiness!

I love the colors.
This took me two years, from start til end. I didn't work on it during the summer months, It was to warm to have this quilt on my lap. But when it got cooler, it was nice and cozy. This is a quilt Im NOT giving this away.
This is a keeper.

Even more Crumbs

Will this ever end?
I'm obsess in make these everyday. I feel like I'm getting no where.
Well I added something else to the crumbs. If you notice above, BUTTON HOLES! This came from a duvet I tore up and have been using it up every where.

I only had seven of  these, I think..... I thought sewing some buttons on the button holes would look good.
I like them.

Here they are mixed with a few more crumbs I made. Oh, those 2 nice stars are from a lap quilt I made trying to use up scraps again.

I have them separated 16 in each stack. So I have 128 6 inch squares made. I wanted to make a quilt about 96 x 98.

So I would have to make 144 more, I'm thinking I'll  might use some sashing in between.
Now to decide what color.....

More Crumb Along!

We were suppose to make log cabins, I made 6,but I think I'm going to make more with other colors.

Here are some laid out.The original plan was a smaller quilt, I'm plan on making a larger quilt for our bed, queen size.

I do like the trim I added to some blocks.

I have a few more squares to make, so I better get busy. I have seen some quilters making letters around the outside, even making a disappearing 9 square. I haven't decided what I want to do yet. It's still not to late to join, just hit the button on the right and check out how to make one.

I am liking them, I need to work on my other scraps.

Looking forward to tomorrow, our next challenge.
