I took it with us!

When we moved in our first house, in 1996. We started measuring the kids (and Spice),  on the wall in the pantry.

We left for 7 years and rented the house.

We were surprised when we came back it was still there!

We kept it going.
We also added our daughter-in-laws and grand kids when they visited.

We were building a house, and we couldn't take the wall with us. I couldn't just leave it!
I measured and took every ones measurements and transferred them to a 6ft board.

I also put our last name underneath.
Our oldest is over 6 ft now, oh well.

I did take it with us!
I'm happy with it.

Christmas Tree '11

It seems like, "This is the best Christmas tree we every had!".
At least this is what Rob and Jennifer says. (Every year! LOL)
A Polish pottery ornament, the sun from from El Paso when we were there. the leaf is from the 911 Museum, this leaf is from one of the trees to go to the 911 Memorial Park.

The sheep from New Zealand, and the cute blue one next to it, 1983 for Matthew .

Top right Missouri ornament, below a doggie one that Spice didn't eat. To the right we bought this in New Mexico, and to the left from Germany a wonderful gift from Jason. That little one down on the right, something Heather made.

Texas Mistletoe and a 2010 Hershey memorable piece.

Yes, our tree is real! All our ornaments are very special. They bring out memories, of where we have been.

Our newest one is our flat Heather, at least this year. She couldn't make it home from school. Her smiles and giggles are missed.
Family seems to be going away.

What now?

My Granbabies ! Bragging.......................:~)

They main reason I went with Rob to DC, was because it was only 2 1/2 hours from my grand kids. After he was done with his work and me with my sight seeing, we left for PA.

My oldest son Jason who lived in Canada with his family took a big step and moved to the US for better medical for Joseph, who has mild autism. I'm so proud of Jason and Piera for sacrificing their lives for their child.
Jason (oldest son)and Juilan(my youngest grand son)
Look at Julian's eyes, he is gorgeous.

Lelia and Nikki

Lelia is the the oldest of my grand babies. Her birthday is 37 minutes before my birthday.

Adalyn and Matthew

Matthew my second child, and Adalyn my third grand baby.

Joseph and Piera

My second grand child.

GrandBob with his grand girls.

Playing peek-a-boo with Juilan. The things grand kids will make you do.

Crawling around.

"Why are you way over there BaBa?"

I'm a little slow at crawling I guess.

My favorite!

I must of took 20 or 30 of pics of these four. I knew there had to be at least one that was good one.

This one is going on the Grand kids wall, and GrandBob said he wanted one for his office too.

Maybe next time BaBa and GrandBob with them, yhea right they're quick!

Matthew's NEW Christmas Stocking!

Remember the Giants/Eagles quilt I made a while back? I had extra fabric.....guess what I did with it?
Made Matthew a Giants stocking. Rob looked at it, and said "I want one too!" But of course Eagles Theme. I told him he would have to wait until after the holidays.
Happy Quilting!

Giants/Eagles Quilt

I've had this quilt for awhile now. I made this when I found out Matthew and Nikki were pregnant. I was going to give this one if it was a boy. Well I have a grandaughter instead. So now this lap quilt will go to Matthew(Giants Fan) and Nikki(Eagles Fan).

Thay can argue who wants to use it, or they can share.

While they are watching a game, movies or want to snuggle.
I do have left over fabric. I do have an idea what to do with it, and already made something with it. I'll show you when I get back from PA. I'll have plenty of pictures to share of Leila and her parents.
Have a wonderful Christmas,
Sonja

Baby Shower Trip

Here is Nikki opening her many gifts. Leila made out with everything you could imagine. Not only did Nikki recieved so many nice things, at the house people were giving her clothes, shoes, blankets, crib and somuch more. Heather helped Nikki organize a little and they filled 5 big totes of clothes! She'll be a well dressed little girl.

Nikki just opened Rob's gift to her. The shirt said my Heart Belongs to Grandpa, and a pacifer with clip. The clip is a football shape with the Eagles logo on it. The pacci also has the Eagle logo. Nikki and Rob are big Eagle Fans, Matthew and I are Giants Fan.

Here's the quilt! Yes, I made her cry when she opened it and saw the handprint on it. (below in the last blog)
Oh yhea, she just got here haircut a few weeks ago. Isn't it cute! It will be so much easier to manage when the baby comes.
On the left sitting is Nikkis mom, she lost 60 pounds since last year. She looks great! Standing behind her is Nikki's grandmother.

Here is mommy and daddy!

Of course I needed a picture with my granddaughter. Her belly is so cute.

Back at the house, here is Leila's room. They painted it and put up the pretty wall paper. Do you see the little rocking chair with the bear. That was Matthew's when he was little.

Matthew is putting the rocker glider together here.

Isn't the border cute! They also have matching hamper and blanket (thanks mom).

All put together, and ready for baby. Matthew also put the crib together. Nikki is keeping him very busy putting everything together.

Nikki enjoying the rocker. It's a light sage color, it matches the border very nice. It was so nice to see the two of them so happy and excited. I do wish we lived closer together.
Well I have been looking at websites on distant grandparenting. Leila will know her BaBa. LOL It was a great time seeing everyone, but I was looking forward to coming home.
