Operation Kid Comfort Quilt #2

I've been working on my second quilt. This one is for a infant girl. Her daddy left in Sept of 08.

I love the butterfly fabric, I went off the fabric to pick these colors.I'm finishing up on the binding now.

In the photo she had a cute little white ribbon in her hair. I also stitched on a cute little white ribbon.

Hopefully I'll make the next presentation for the quilts.

I'm having foot surgery on the 19th of March. So my feet will be up 55 minutes every hour. I'm only allowed 5 minutes on my feet. This will go on for 2 weeks. In the mean time I have been getting projects ready for the long haul. I'll let you know more later.

I love the ay you put the ribbon on the quilt like it was in her hair. What a great idea. I think it's beautiful. You did a great job. I am sure she will treasure it forever.

Do you use a transfer medium to put the pictures on the fabric or do you use the printable fabric that will go through your printer? I used fabric medium--and it stays well onto the fabric, but ie a pain to get all the medium off originally.
Love your comfort quilts. They are such a WONDERFUL idea! So glad that you can help these little ones while Dad (or Mom) is gone.

Photos are printed on printable fabric that runs through the Armed forces YMCA printer. She said it goes through alot of ink. They give us the printed fabric, we peel off the back and run it under warm water for a few mintues til the water is clear. Then let it dry on a towel.

Wow that quilt makes me want to cry it is beautiful, that is so cool that you can share your talent. I am sure it will be treasured! We take our team quilt everywhere and get the nicest comments, Leila uses hers in her crib every night! I am not sure how we lived without them!
