Vintage Thingies Thursday

This is a Chautauqua oak desk, with curtained shelves, FREE with a $10 order of Larkin Soap 1895-1910.

When I was given this desk by my mother in-law it was coated with layers of paint. It took me all summer stripping this piece. I didn't stain this at all. I just love the color. All I did was oiled it. There is also little cubbies inside, to messy to show you. LOL

Even though this came from my dear husbands mom, the desk is mine. I just love it!!!

This is really pretty, I've never understood why people paint over natural wood...

Very pretty! Hubby's aunt gave me a desk and I wouldn't give it up for anything.

Wow! If only we could get it free today by buying $10 of soap. It's beautiful. Thanks for sharing. :)

how beautiful! I love the fact that you have the story behind it too. It's hard to believe someone would have painted over such a beautiful piece. You made it look GREAT!
