Home Made Cranberry Sauce

I love this time of season when bags of cranberries are out for the picking. Instead of opening a can of cranberry sauce and dumping it out in a bowl. I make my own, it is so EASY!
You'll need;
1/4 cup sugar, 1 tsp cinnamon, 1 pkg fresh cranberries, 1/2 cup orange juice, 1 medium apple(chopped), 1/3 cup chopped walnuts or pecans

Mix the first five ingredients together in a microwave-safe bowl.
Microwave on high for nine minutes.
Stir.

Add in nuts.
Stir.

This makes a quart.

Refrigerate before serving. You can make this a day head.
Thank goodness cranberries can be frozen, I make this any time of year. It's great as a side dish.
Tell me what you think about it.

Holy cow, this sounds great! I, too, buy cranberries and freeze them for use throughout the year! We love them in everything, but especially muffins and my Cranberry Pecan Cake! I'm going to make this sauce tomorrow....just need to get some orange juice and an apple! Thanks so much for sharing this!
